ABOUT ME

Hi, I am Karppaham Krishnasamy! I am 59 years old and I was born and raised in a small town named Puchong in the state of Selangor in west Malaysia. I  am a responsible, hardworking and persevering person. Personally I like to receive and deal with challenging tasks. I am an  enthusiast which is my strength.

MY FAMILY

As for my family, there are four of us,  that is my husband, my daughter, my son and me. As a cute little family, my husband is the backbone of the family who is responsible in organizing and planning for the family. I am the one who is in charge of making everyone eats at appropriate time and spend quality time with the family every day. I am the rock of support in my family as I always go beyond my family’s expectations.

MY EDUCATION

My education background began by attending public primary school which was CASTLEFIELD TAMIL PRIMARY SCHOOL in, Puchong for six years. Then, I continued my secondary education in Puchong Secondary School as middle school. My middle school was the best part of my education where I was given an opportunity to express myself creatively through writing, speaking and acting in drama. I was selected as the Head Prefect of the school after seeing my performance. My High School journey was also the best and unforgettable memories in life. I successfully did my Diploma in education, then later did my Degree in Education at OPEN UNIVERSITY OF MALAYSIA.

MY CAREER

My first career started as a temporary teacher  at the age of 20 for primary students for 4 years. Then continued as permanent teacher in CASTLEFIELD TAMIL PRIMARY SCHOOL, in PUCHONG for 16 years which was been one of the best experience in my life. After 22 years , I was promoted as Senior Assistant in the same school where I started my career. Finally I became the  Principal or Head Teacher in the same school I studied and started my career that is Castlefield Tamil Primary School. I have served as a teacher for the last 40 years and I would be retiring at the age of 60 in the year 2024.

MY ACHIEVEMENTS

My first Achievement was during in Primary school days where I was made as ‘Head Prefect’ of the school. In Middle School  I got ‘BEST PREFECT OF THE YEAR’ Award. During my High School I was a strong activist for students’ affair. Then as a teacher I was awarded as ‘BEST PERFORMANCE TEACHER FOR 2 Times’ (1996, 2016) during my service; which is not that easy to get from the department. Then I was posted as Principal in the same school in 2018 and  I received the ‘BEST PRINCIPAL AWARD’ in the year 2022. Hence as the Principal with the untiring assistance of my beloved teachers, students parents and the community we received the following awards for our school:

• Transfomation School Award – 2020
• High Order Thinking School – 2021
• 1 District 5 Model Schools – 2022
• Mini Book City – 2023

I’m amazed by the incredible development I have made since starting my  career as a teacher and as a principal. I’m totally grateful to be recognized and given this opportunity by Women Icon powered by Times Women to win the award for “Women’s Achievers Award. I’m pleased to share my goal and dream on a global scale and take part in shaping younger generation.

Receiving this recognition reaffirms my dedication and hard work my teachers, my community have put into creating a conducive learning environment for my children numbering 800 of them at the moment. I am thankful to Women Icon for providing me a platform to share my experience to worldwide.

Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Women Icon powered by Times Women and last but not least, I also would like to thank my  students, parents, teachers, office staffs, department and most importantly my community from all walks of life for enabling me to achieve this award.
