Mili has bagged Outstanding Women Award for Raising Awareness of Indian Culture in Foreign Land

It is hard to pin down this feeling. A sense of happiness excites me to receive the " Outstanding Women Award for raising awareness of Indian Culture in Foreign Land". I am also profoundly grateful to "Women Icon powered by Times Women" to recognize me for this award. Born and raised in Delhi, India, I have earned a postgraduate degree in management as well as in teaching.

In my opinion accomplishments and achievements mold one’s personality.

My accomplishments as a student include:

1. A topper throughout my academic years - Primary to Masters. 

2. Was awarded a Trophy and Certificate for Best in meal planning and SALT Program in the entire school(Slum Area Literacy Teaching) by IPS Mrs. Kiran Bedi, the first women officer in Indian Police Services 

3. Winner of Drawing competition at the national level & also Badminton champion at State-level.

My accomplishments as a professional :

1.  2 Six sigmas projects in Customer services.

2. Completed TTT( Train the trainer).

3. Creator of Induction Manuals at the workplace.

I'm equally fortunate to nurture and raise our 10 yr old daughter Niharika with the help and support of my husband. 

I strongly believe that culture plays an important role in the development of any Society & Nation. It represents a set of shared attitudes, values, goals & practices. Culture & creativity manifest themselves in almost all economic, social & other activities and India has been symbolized by the plurality of its culture.

My interest involves socializing and traveling to different places & Meeting people from different walks of life and I fulfill my desires by being actively involved in organizing cultural events for kids and also celebrating Indian Festivals to make the younger generation know values, traditions, and rich Indian culture.

Before I moved to the Philippines, I was associated with an international school in Vietnam as a mathematics teacher for grades 11 and 12. Prior to that, I was associated with one of the largest Telecom operators as an HR manager based in Delhi.

I've been staying in the Philippines for 7 years now, and in addition to my family, I've involved myself to promulgate the rich Indian culture to the Children. I have also imbibed the rich values of my child by celebrating the festivals with family and also by explaining the importance of our culture. Presently I'm Treasurer & Board Member for Indian Cultural Association Philippines. As a cultural trustee, I am an internal and external representative for the organization. Organized many events that have brought the community together through culture. Bringing together the community with the events that represent the rich culture of the place we come from has always been my passion. India is socially, culturally, and linguistically very diverse. Indian culture and traditions are something which has now become renowned all across the world.

The award is indeed a great motivator in itself. Makes me glad to receive my first international award. I sincerely thank the Almighty for this. This would not have been possible without the support of my daughter, my husband, my mom, my aunt, and my friends.
