Kavitha Lalithkumar has bagged Youth Excellence Award

Mrs. Kavitha Lalithkumar now has become a well-recognized Tamil poet in Sri lanka and abroad. She was nominated to receive the award under the category of “Women inspiration” which is conducted by Women icon powered by the Times women. Due to this nomination, she has exceeded, because the women icon award is the most prominent international Award, it has been providing valuable awards for women who have achieved their own way.     

Kavitha  Was born on 16th June 1984 in the ancient village of Kallady in the Batticaloa district to Mr..Nesaraja and Mrs Mary Nesaraja.She got married with Mr.Lalithkumar & she is a mother of Darmish.  She earlier started her primary education at Vadamarachi Hindu College, Jaffana and later continued her education at BT/St Ingenious Vidyalayam. Batticaloa. During her early age she showed extreme interest in artistic learning. 

At the age of 9th she showed great enthusiasm in reading and writing. Later she became an avid reader and a master writer. In her young age she was engaged in compiling her own work of poetry, short stories, novels and writing essays on different topics   particularly   she started reading novels, articles of different topics & essays. Mostly she concentrated on reading rather than any other activities.

One day, in her class Tamil teacher gave her a topic to write on a short story.  It was a Turning point in her life.  After reading her assignment her teacher encourage her in writings on different topics for that she would become a master writer in the future.as time went on, she had the chance to write a short story on the title of “Ethirparpukal” which means “Expectations in English this particular creation was published in Tamil weekly newspaper “Mithiran” in  2009. 

Thereafter, she was encouraged to continue with her Advanced level studies at Bt/ Vincent Girls high school. After completing her Advance level successfully entered the University of Peradeniya and did her graduation in Arts. And also, she completed diplomas of Human Resource management & Project management in the university of Cardiff Metropolitan. Thereafter she faced a common examination for the Management officer and she was recruited for the same position in District secretariat, Batticaloa.  Presently she is continuing with her studies in the law field in the University of Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom. 

Now she is engaged with writing poetry in the local and foreign newspapers, magazines, weekly and monthly editions. Her work was published nationally and internationally and she proved her talent as a Prominent writer. For this reason her publications were published in the International Tamil poetry pages & Radios namely Aarthimedia, Amma Radio & Lagaram Minnithal which is located in the countries of    Netherland, India, and Canada.    

Apart from the above, she has written more than five hundred poems, more than 30 short stories and songs. this songs are especially written for to bring awareness on COVID 19 among the general public. After finishing her Law Studies she has a plan to publish all her creative work compiling them as a book. She also has created web page namely “Kaviyin Kavithulligal”, This web page was created on18.02.2020 , especially  this web page has been publishing different kind of poetries. Further, her web page reached around 2000 Viewers in globally.

In addition, more than hundred nos of poems were published in another poetry’s web page, namely “Your Quotes”. She started publishing in those web pages since 20th march 2018 - up to now. Now all her publications have become popular among the people throughout Sri Lanka and abroad. All her productions and creations would surely gain a permanent landmark among the public.
