Overview

Shabeena Somasundaram is a Writer and an Author. She was born in Jaffna, in Sri Lanka's Northern Province, and currently she is working as an website News Editor, She is currently located in Batticaloa, which is in Sri Lanka's Eastern Province, and  she is passionate about media and literature. When she first started out in this industry, She wrote short stories and articles for websites. And she was delighted to be a big fan of Rajeshkumar, India's king of "crime novels".

In these circumstances, her articles on psychology were published for the first time in the Batticaloa district's News Paper called 'Arangam' Following that, she started writing short stories
for the website 'Arangam' moreover, her story "Nermugaththervu" was published
in the Indian magazine "Pengalin Kural". 

 'Thinakkural' NewsPaper published the short story 'Sandhiththa Velai,'   'Sirithiran' NewsPaper published the short story 'Araippoththal Kallu'  'Supitcham'   NewsPaper published the short story
'Chinnanchiru Raksiyame'  'Mithiran Varamalar'   magazine published the short story 'Vanam Kanaatha Venilla'.

'Karaiyillaa kutrangal" , a volume of her short stories, was published last year. She is constantly writing short stories for various websites, as well as scripts for documentaries.

Last year, she got the award for Best Comedy Writer in a literary competition sponsored by the Puthiya Alai Kalai Vattam organization in Sri Lanka's capital colombo. Her short story 'Maattukkaara Manogari' got the prize in the literary competition held by the 'Sri Lanka Writers' Association' last year.

Mr. Somasundaram and Mrs. Susiladevi are her parents, she is the first child of her parents, and she has two sisters named Sharmila and Rekha, as well as a brother named Sabesan.

She received her elementary education at Madulsima Tamil Maha Vidyalayam in Badulla District, a lovely hill district of Sri Lanka, and then went on to St. Xavier's Girls College in Mannar for her secondary school.

And also she holds a Diploma in Psychology and a Diploma in Media Studies. she was more involved and interested in activities like painting and singing from a young age, in addition to writing.

Not only as a writer, but also as a mother, she acts magnificently. Dena Tanisha and Lia Adonia are her two cute clever daughters. She never failed to put extra effort into bettering her children's
upbringing.

Shabeena wants to be a great role model to her kids, also she wants to make a name for herself in the literary world.
