Overview

“My gender I did not choose at birth but it was chosen for me to make a change. I am a Woman, not just any woman but a dynamic believer that a woman can achieve any goal if they set their mind upon it”.

Shanika Marini Paul is indeed privileged to be the title winner of “The Best Tutoring Solutions Award” bagged by Women Icon powered by Times Women for the year 2021. I represent the dynamic Tutors who have worked tediously, in order to wing students towards success.

I am the daughter of Mr. Julian Bertie Paul and Srimani Paul. As a child I grew up realizing the responsibilities of being the eldest of three siblings. Educated at one of Sri Lanka's most prestigious Schools ST. Bridget’s Convent Colombo 7 where I graduated in the year 1992.The words of my principal when I nearly gave up my Senior Prefect badge (Since I was losing my few friends) she, I quote “Have you ever seen anyone pelt stones at a barren tree? My answer was “no!” she then said take those stones and build your fortress. “My key to success in making me reach boundaries that I could never imagine.

Life’s extremely tough journey made me established my own private Tuition Institute named the “Ultimate International “in 2003 with just two students by the year 2006 I commenced The Ultimate International pre- School as well as primary School which gave an opportunity to the underprivileged families who could not afford an International School education, with a student body of 220 students and fifteen teachers. Aboard .As a student who had the good fortune of studying in a prestigious School where all our students were affluent in English , I realized that the underprivileged could only dream of a sound English based environment , furthermore when it came to the job market , The private and International School students had better opportunity in being selected for a job than other students, This was indeed my goal of establishing a School that the poor could at least have an equal chance of survival.

This was a branching of the ultimate International Tuition Institute. opening gates to Cambridge English and Literature for O/Level Students of International Schools. I believe that students are always eager to be educated by innovative teachers.

I believe that each student has their own individuality and understanding levels, behavioral patterns differ, there are tutors who do not take a chance by enrolling students with disorders of behavior or students who score low grades. To me they are my challenge

With the profits drawn from the Institute we sponsor students of less fortunate societies by providing their school stationery and clothing.as well as dry rations to the needy.

As a past Regional Chairperson of The Lions District 306B1 I initiated most of my past Students to be enrolled as Leos. I was able to organize an international youth camp with representation of Leos from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. In my country

My victories also crowned me as “Ms Talent in the Ms Lanka Pageant in 1995, “I also appeared in TV commercials, and as a hobby compared at programs and modeled am married to Prasanna Subasinghe. I am indeed blessed with an equally influential, Dynamic daughter named Anika who is reading for her bachelors at present and a talented son aged 9 named Akain.

At present I’m reading for my Masters in Education at Horizon Campus Affiliated to Asian E university. Malaysia, I wish the event organizers all the very best in the projects they endeavor upon.  and thank them once again for giving women the due recognition.

“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish."
