My name is Kavita RUNGEE, Director of Nac Style Ltd., and President of One Moris Women Association, Mauritius. Very young I started as a Hindi language teacher and then I changed in a totally different field, textile and clothing.  In a short time, I went from merchandiser to General Manager of a garment manufacturing factory in Madagascar, this is where I developed a keen sense and love for business.  After years of hard work, I started my own business. But even with an often too busy schedule I found time for social activities through NGO`s and cultural social groups, helping others is part of me. 

I try as much as possible to live in harmony with the elements and with nature, in the present tumultuous world, threats and tensions predominating; we have a great need of all our inner strength.  It is a daily and constant work on oneself, a work of every moment, a perpetual challenge this is how we can give the best of ourselves. 

I allow myself a spiritual gateway from time to time to Vrindavan India in order to be able to live in perfect symbiosis; physically, emotionally and spiritually.  This is how I have acquired much strength and love to share.

We all have a unique journey and I think that all our knowledge must be passed on to other women and they in turn pass on what they have received to other women.  This is my duty as woman to pass on all what life has blessed me with.  The gift of our self, the greatest gift we can give to each other. 

Our association is a reflection of this ideology, our vision is a society in which women and girls in all their diversity are equal and truly free to fulfill their potential creating a stronger, happier, better future for us all. 

We have to live according to our principles that I make a point of honour to do personally, socially and professionally. 

Being nominated by an institution such as yours, Women Icon is an honour in itself and culmination of a long process of personal and teamwork.  This award means a great deal to me, it is the recognition of the hard work and it shows that we are on the right path.
