Mrs. Aishath Nazima 

The first female to Vice Chair the Football Association of Maldives – Mrs. Aishath Nazima is  crowned with numerous awards at various levels from the age of 8 years to date. Carving the  title of the first female graduate in football administration, Mrs. Nazima has made the whole  country proud by representing Maldives at international platforms in her leading sports  Volleyball, Basketball, Handball, Netball and Athletics. Ever since she became a renowned  athlete, she has been closely involved in many social works and with her unique knowledge and  experience and with a highly visible sports profile, she has performed the role of Brand  Ambassador for two commercial products and two NGOs.  

Mrs. Nazima, as an athlete who always has produced remarkable results, has the determination  to focus and bring fresh ideas and new energy to take the football association of Maldives to new  heights. She is goal-oriented with passionate leadership skills, positive attitude to identify  winning approaches and determined to accomplish her goals and lead her teams to success.  

Above all, Mrs. Nazima is committed to expand her knowledge and skills to pursue both personal  and professional growth and she applies this drive to achieve positive results for the football  Association of Maldives.

Highlights 

Mrs. Nazima has achieved Awards at National and International Levels for being recognized as a  Sports Icon who has successfully accomplished her goals and queened at the top of the list of  award-winning athletes for many years. The most recent success she received was the award  confirmation selection for the ‘Asia Awards’ presented by the ‘Rula Awards’ under the category  Asia’s Sports Awards. She has been awarded the ‘Asia’s No.1 Brand and Leadership Award’ and  has bagged the prestigious title of ‘Asia’s Sports Hall of Fame Awards’. EXPERIENCE 

With an award-winning career history in Sports, especially in Netball and Volleyball, Ms. Nazima  possesses International Coaching Certificate as well as Umpiring Certificate. In addition to this,  she has received her Diploma in Sports from Greece and Football Administration from Malaysia.  With years of experience, Ms. Nazima is an effective coach, a passionate mentor who has been  guiding, mentoring and developing athletes at Junior and Senior levels. She also has the great capacity in working as an individual in the field of sports as this is evident by the establishment  of ‘Fiontii Sports Academy’ owned by her which has been functioning strongly. I am so honored and grateful to be the recipient of “ Women Icon of the Year “ powered by Times  Women. Thank you so much and appreciate the recognition. Walking down the memory lane to  see where I started I could only recollect the days I was running around sports grounds and  streets of the capital city, Male' trying every possible physical sport played at that time. I go to the grounds and come back home only when I was exhausted. I followed my heart and I was  convinced that sports was my strength and my passion. That was a time even male athletes were  not recognized much and aspiring to be a family athlete was not a common dream. So, the  support and encouragement I received from my parents, family and sports coaches was  exceptional and uncommon. At this moment I can only think of them and thank them from the  bottom of my heart. They allowed me, encouraged me and supported me to unleash my potential  and become the best I can be. I dedicate this award to my mother and my father who trusted  and believed in their daughter. I dedicate this award to my husband and my sisters who have been  the constant support to make my dreams come true. I dedicate this award to my children who  are always excited to see their mom inspiring so many other girls. Girls, this award is also for you.  Follow your heart. Keep competing with yourself and raise the bar everyday. I did. Many others did.  You can too. 

Ms. Nazima describes herself as a strong epitome for youth interested in the field of Sports as  well as for the women in the country who dream to achieve their goals and have strong  determination in working toward success. Ms. Nazima’s thoughts upon receiving national and  international awards are joyful and especially the latest achievement she got bagging the  prestigious title of ‘Asia’s Sports Hall of Fame Awards’ was the most precious moment for as it  has brought immense happiness and feeling of great success in the field of Sports. She also wants  to advise other people following in her footpath to have a strong determination and aim toward  achieving their dreams and goals as she believes that women can seek equal opportunities as  men to strive for excellence and shine like exemplary icons for future generations.
