Overview

After completing my schooling, I joined the University of Kwa Zulu Natal in South Africa where I have obtained my BPharm. I started my career in 2008 in the public hospital sector in South Africa. This was an enjoyable time in my career, to be affiliated to the famous King George V Hospital.

After I completed my Post Graduate Diploma and MBA at MANCOSA, there was a 360 degree conversion which pushed me to leave the pharmaceutical sector to implant myself in the education sector, choice that I have not regretted since. Today I head operations at Honoris Mauritius, member of Honoris United Universities, the first pan African university, present in 10 countries, with a good 61000+ students.  I am passionate about what I do. No two days are the same and since integrating the HUU network, I have grown as an individual and adopting good values.

Professional Activities

Honoris Educational Network (ex YKBS) is a member institution of Honoris United Universities - a major Pan African educational platform providing Higher education in  Mauritius and  the Indian Ocean Islands.

Honoris offers an impressive portfolio of programmes in Business Administration, Management, IT and Accounting from Higher Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Master levels. The main driving forces at Honoris are Accessibility, Affordability and Accreditation of its programmes, which are benchmarked against world-class education providers.

Over the years, the institution has grown to become the largest private distance learning provider in Mauritius by keeping students at the center of all activities.  In 2021, the offerings have expanded to include the most acclaimed coding bootcamp in the world – Le Wagon from France.

The Honoris United Universities network believe in collaborative, agile and mobile mindsets. All training programmes are licensed by local regulators in the country of origin, TEC and MQA, which caution the quality assurance and academic standards of training programmes.

In December 2020, the institution was awarded the Best Educational Establishment at the Mauritius Business Awards. In 2021, Honoris Educational Network received The People’s Choice award.

I head operations at Honoris Educational Network. I am involved in the daily activities of multiple departments. My role is to ensure that the organisation is running well, with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of students, while making sure that the operational requirements are adhered to. A core part of my portfolio links to growth, HR, and finances. While we challenge and support our students through their learning journey, we also challenge ourselves as private providers to keep on improving our way of doing things.

From an organisational perspective, the aim is to widen access to learning by making it affordable and inclusive. Each semester, some funds are earmarked for scholarships and meantfor potential students belonging to the underprivileged group. Post interviews and evidences, they can benefitup to 100% funding for their first degrees. I sit on this committee. This also aligns to the sustainable development goals.

Social Activities

On a personal level, I am a member of the Junior Chamber International,Curepipe (Mauritius), which is a non-profit organisation. JCI has as mission to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. I am currently the Project Director of the ‘Rediscover your self’ project, which came together post pandemic- The project has as objectives to provide a platform where people with or without mental disorders can rediscover themselves. The world is changing more than ever, with accelerating transformation. I am inspired to be an advocate for change and lend my voice to people.
