Kamana Panta Thapa has bagged Distinguished Academician Award

I am Kamana Panta Thapa, Partner, Trainer and Pre School-Curriculum Developer at Wee Kids Pre School, Kathmandu Nepal.

I started my journey as an academician at the age of 16 and took it as a part time job. Back then I never knew that, this part time job will turn out to be my profession and passion. After working as a teacher, coordinator, principal in various institutions, I landed to Wee Kids Pre School on my current role. I always felt the need to train the preschool teachers as they are shaping the mind of our young ones and this is what I am doing at Wee Kids.

I am privilege to share my knowledge and experiences, I gained throughout my career, with the teachers of preschool that I am currently working with. I believe that I am still on my learning phase, and always focus on opportunity to enhance my skills and competencies.

I am a mother of two girls aged 10 and 5. They are my teachers and my biggest source of inspiration. Seeing them grow, observing them, finding solutions to their problems, meeting their needs has helped me to get better in my field.

Taking about Wee Kids, it aims to provide an outstanding, inclusive program that focuses on the development of young children by creating enriching learning experiences through exploration, discovery and hands-on activities. We at Wee Kids, believe children learn at their own pace; thus, we provide them with enabling environments which caters to their individual needs and gives them the freedom to expand their knowledge and develop age appropriately.

I am thankful to Women Icon Award for Celebrating Womanhood in such a way that it provides recognition to the women who have exceled in their field, it also enhances and encourages, women like me to give their 100% in their profession and focus on doing better each day, every day. I am thankful beyond words for acknowledging me with "Distinguished Academician Award".
