Overview

As I reflect amongst my work and experience, I, Anugya Pant, a civil engineer and a MBA graduate can't help but feel a sense of accomplishment and pride. With many trials and turbulences, I feel that my growth as an individual and student is a direct result of these experiences.

I am an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who has a clear understanding of the role and responsibilities associated with being a civil engineer. Having the ability to provide support for several priorities, I am able to establish, maintain and develop effective working relationships with service users, operational teams, partners and colleagues.

I am a highly competent individual who has extensive knowledge and experience of managing, directing and monitoring both small and large-scale projects. On the technical side I am able to accurately prepare projects to the highest standards, particularly drawings, plans, schedules and construction design maintenance documentation production.

have an successful input into the acquisition of new business, the promotion of the company, team leadership, expert technical advice and strategic input into business planning.

Being a graduate in civil engineering and been working with the government of Nepal, I always felt I should do something on my own. With the intension of establishing a company but no experience in the management field, I pursued my MBA in Project Management. After completion it was not much later that my friends and me opened a construction company.

But there was a glitch, people hardly accepts a female engineer on site. It was really a struggle for me to fit in. Workers hardly followed my ideas or instruction. But being a co-partner in a company it didn’t take me much to be able to take in charge. It really is a challenge for me to be accepted as a construction company owner.

In 2015, Nepal faced a massive earthquake causing of loss of more than 8500 people and the major factor was lack of earthquake resistant building. People often built their houses with the ideas of layman instead of qualified person. There is still a lack of concept of handing over the project to a qualified construction company.

Pride Construction and Suppliers Pvt Ltd is a dream we created for quality construction. It is located in the middle of the capital city of Nepal. With all young engineers and team we aim to provide construction services with quality materials and skilled labor.

It focuses on earthquake resistant residential building and has future goal of shifting to commercial construction. With myself being the female head of the company we also aim to create a construction industry with focuses on the talent rather than the gender.

On behalf of the women icon, I feel pleased to receive the "Outstanding Young Women Leadership Award". I am extremely obliged for the recognition I have received.

Receiving this award I am hopeful I might be a role model for the women who are pursuing their dream.  I am thankful to have been chosen for the "Outstanding Young Women Leadership Award" the award from Women Icon powered by Times Women.

Achieving such an honored award at such a position makes me motivated to work harder and build an environment for other young women to not give up on their dream.
