W.Lolitha Juliet Pathima Fernando has bagged Award For The Best Design In Healthcare

First of all, I am honored and happy to receive the Women Icon powered by Times Women and the World Women Council award. This is a very great occasion in my life.

I am Warnakulasooriya Lolita Juliet Pathima Fernando. When I was 10 years old, my mother was dead. I have two younger sisters. My father looked after us very carefully. Then my father asked me to help our family as the older sister. So when I was 18 years old, I had to stop my higher education, and I was abroad for work, including in the USA. Finally, I built a house too. I have worked abroad for about four and a half years.

Then I got married, and I started my own business, which I have been running successfully for the past 27 years, currently in Sri Lanka. As well, I have been managing catering services for 27 years with my husband. My husband, my loving daughter, and my loving son have helped and given me strength, as well as encouraged me to handle my business.

My son and my daughter are now married. My daughter has a son; he is 2 years old now. My son studied IT at the Esoft campus, and he is now working in the UAE. My daughter is teaching music and English in the private sector. So I am managing my shop with my husband. My shop has pastry and bakery items, foods, cakes, gas, newspapers, Ez Cash, reloads, and bill payments. I am working at my shop in a relaxing mood. I open my shop from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. My hobbies are caring for my dog and reading books, newspapers, listening to music, etc. 

As a self-employed entrepreneur managing my shop, I have experienced many difficult times with my children. But I really would like to give my valuable service to my customers because it is the duty of a dedicated and exemplary woman. 

Actually. I need to be an example to every woman in the world, and then every woman will be changed to live and act as an exemplary woman. As women, we must think about each other’s needs. As well, I would like to do many social services and give many instructions and advice to build my customers' families and their own lives.

As well, I will provide free services for my poor customers too. I am not working just for money; I am collecting human beings because when we collect humans, it begins to last forever. 

I was excited to receive this recognition. And I thank the women icon for selecting me to receive an award under the category of "best design in health care." This is my first time facing and attending this kind of recognition.

I am appreciative of holding the Women Icon Awards because every woman is talented, but not everyone of us gets recognized with an international award. As well, I am encouraging all women to attend and win an international award from a women icon for a good future. As well, I am thankful to my God for giving me this beautiful opportunity and for placing me in a good position because I started from zero, and I always remember my starting steps and my gratitude towards God and the universe for this achievement. Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to women icons, Times Women, and the World Women Council, too.
