I am Lasanti Dinesha Kumari Withanage. I am a wife and mother, a professional cake designer, and a cake professional training instructor. This is the sixth year since I started my vocational training institute. Although I have been fond of cakes since childhood, the reason I turned to art in particular was the cake I wanted to make for my son's first birthday. because of the frustration caused by it not being designed the way I wanted. I was deeply saddened by it.

Then my husband told me that you should study this art if you want to make it however you want. It was with his word that I have come this far today. As of today, I have graduated as a cake expert.

At first, I studied and only designed cakes for more than 4 years. I started conducting courses based on the requests received from those who provide those designs.

At first, I created cakes at home while doing the chores and all the other work at home.

As per the request of the students who were involved in that course, advanced courses were started, and I started conducting my courses in the vocational training centers away from my hometown, Kiribathgoda. But after some days, due to some insults that occur in these places, it made me start my own academy. So I started my own place, and now I run all the courses related to cake art in the vocational training center, which has been developed to the point where diploma certificates can be issued as a government-registered course.

So far, four cake exhibitions have been held, and since the beginning, we have been able to make all the exhibitions very successful. Thousands of students have been given professional training, and thousands of students have opened their own paths.

I am extremely happy about that. Courses are held every day of the week, and free cake workshops are also held for small children (in nursery and school) with the aim of introducing children to the art of cake making, as well as for older students. While providing help to the needy, I always refer my students to it and do all the work with their participation.

I see the Women Icon International Award as another event that changed my life. I was selected as the best mentor of the year, and I thank all the organizers from the bottom of my heart for this most valuable evaluation of my work and teaching life.
