Overview

Nadeesha Nandasena is a dynamic, energetic, and intelligent lady who has taken up the great responsibility of running Kingsbridge American College.

Dedication, commitment, and hard work are the key driving forces behind Nadeesha’s success as an educator. A vibrant personality, she is full of innovative ideas to provide a high-quality, all-rounded education to her students. She is a proud product of Musaeus College in Sri Lanka. A highly skilled academic who has done middle school commerce books for commerce subjects in local curricula and IGCSE in commerce recently has done list credentials with the launch of many primary and nursery books for Sri Lankan kids.

Nadeesha Nandasena is not simply a principal; she takes on the roles of teacher, mother, teacher, nurse, counselor, marketer, administrator, and event manager when needed. When she assumed duties as the principal, Nadeesha set a personal motto: "Right policies and right procedures for an effective education system." Apart from providing quality education, she is also keen on building up other aspects of a child's life. Therefore, career guidance and counseling sessions are held regularly for the students in grades 7 and above to help students build up their confidence, face the challenges of life with courage, and develop their personalities. Micro- and macrosports are implemented to develop an interest in these essential activities.

Many other events, such as club activities, concerts, cooking days, English days, debates, inter-house matches, and other special occasions, are marked with colorful and glamorous ceremonies. Furthermore, teacher training sessions and regular meetings are conducted to improve teaching skills and to encourage and engage teachers. Nadeesha runs the school without a vice principal, and she has made it a habit to visit and observe classes regularly. The progress and developments of the past year and the numerous achievements are all due to the commitment of my staff. So she looked back with pride and looked forward with determination to take this establishment to greater heights. She should stress that she is very lucky because she has an excellent staff, all of whom are very supportive and dedicated. And she is thankful for her parents and the students who helped make her career successful.

As the youngest International School Principal in the country in 2013, apart from being a principal, she is also a perfect wife, mother, daughter, and sister that my family is extremely proud of. As Sri Lankans, we can all be proud of her second book, edexcel IGCSE Commerce, as this is the first time a Sri Lankan author has written on the subject. Nadeesha is in talks with a British publishing firm, Pearson Publishers, to make Edexcel IGCSE Commerce available to an international readership. Till then, it will hopefully be available soon in Singapore, Japan, and Bangladesh. With plans to write another book, a revision guide for the Cambridge business studies for O-level standards, and ambitions to teach abroad for a short period, Nadeesha can certainly expect to be kept busy for the coming year. And also, she is awarded the Desha Abhimani Award in Sri Lanka.
