Overview
Dr. Madhu Chandhok is a graduate with
a Masters in Business Management and has over 40 years of extensive experience
in all phases of hospitality projects, including planning, design, and
construction, as well as project management and contract administration for a
broad range of hospitality brands like Holiday Inn, Crown Plaza,
Intercontinental, and Hilton.
Being a part of Bharat Hotels
(currently The Lalit Group), achieved milestones on budget, value engineering,
and project planning. As an owner’s representative for over 27 years, she
managed design review, development, and sourcing and procurement processes for
over 12 full-service and luxury hotels across India.
led the design consultants and their
teams and contractors in providing strategies for improvements on various
hospitality aspects such as interior design, fit-out, and FF&E believes in
executing quality projects, guiding all players, and having a first-time-right
approach. Her mantra is that planning, design management, and coordination are
the keys to success for any built environment.
Having a complete understanding of
the owner's expectations, brand standards, and performance criteria brings
unique value to hospitality projects in all segments.
She was a part of the Hilton brand
when it first arrived in India in 1995 and had the opportunity to be associated
with Hilton Worldwide again in 2009–2013 in the capacity of Director Design
& Projects, responsible for design and FF&E for luxury, full-service,
and focused hospitality projects in the Indian Subcontinent. She has
contributed towards the India-Specific Prototypes for Hilton Brands' Hampton
and Hilton Garden Inn.

unique value to hospitality projects across all segments.
Since 2013, as a Director and
Founding Partner at pip2020, she has been involved in various conversions, new
build and technical surveys, technical audits, design and design management
projects, and project support for the hospitality industry.
She is also a member of the visiting
faculty at the (OCLD) Oberoi School of Learning and Development & Indian
School of Hospitality (ISH).
Covid times have brought challenges and learning for all.

important.
- Choice & Specs of materials and
surfaces need to be revisited.
- A built environment needs to be sustainable in all aspects.
- Embracing technology cannot be compromised if we wish to keep pace with the world.

(Hospitality Procurement Managers Forum)
- Advisory Board member of PHA (Professional Housekeepers Association)
- Committee member of the ANZIBA (Australia-New Zealand-India Business Association)
Over the last two challenging years
(2020–21), she has contributed towards mentoring students from the Indian
School of Hospitality and The Oberoi Center for Learning and Development.
She has also worked closely with the
local artisans from Bihar to develop their art forms, known as Madhubani, and
create awareness both locally and internationally.
She has worked with the small,
creative manufacturers of hand-tufted carpets in Badohi and Mirzapur to
hand-hold the quality assurance part and successfully completed some
international projects. helped them develop their own website and market
themselves.
Being the State President for the
WICCI Hospitality and Tourism Council for Delhi NCR, she has been involved with
supporting many angios like Goonj and successfully contributing through
industry engagements.
She is also working towards women's
inclusion and engagement in the hospitality industry.
Mentoring and guiding the youth
through their career path online and one-on-one is her passion, and she is
supporting them to discover their inner strengths and work towards achieving
their goals. Setting a roadmap according to her is of prime importance for
today’s youth, who are loaded with information and misinformation.
