The Journey Begins….

A sudden idea came into our founder Vasana Gunasekera’s mind came into a reality 6 years ago in 2017 with a humble beginning of just one individual. In 2017, Assignment Spot was established as an online-based academic support service with the intention of building a great organization that supports local and international students, undergraduates and further corporate professionals to achieve their educational and business goals.

When Vasana was studying as a 3^rd year undergraduate at NSBM Green University, She was very keen in providing academic support sessions to their batch mates; it led her to start this business where she is today now. at first, she did this as a social service, totally free but step by step she transformed this into a business expanding into 20 team members where currently working as part-time and full time academic writers.

Assignment Spot has gradually made its mark with over 5000 clients, in 50 varying modules and sectors, across 10 countries and strives to keep up with the intention to be best academic supporter in local and global education.

Assignment Spot employ a team of skilled and knowledgeable experts in various subject areas, including but not limited to, Business Management, Information Technology, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction, Law, Psychology, Education and Creative Multimedia. Founder’s Story

Vasana Gunasekera was born on 10th of July 1995 at Galle Sri Lanka, had always been a dreamer with an insatiable curiosity. From her humble beginnings, she embarked on a remarkable journey of entrepreneurship, leaving an indelible mark on the business world through her innovative ventures and unyielding determination.

Growing up in a middle class and business family, Vasana displayed a knack for problem solving and an eagerness to learn from a young age. Her parents encouraged her inquisitive nature and supported her dreams wholeheartedly. She excelled in academics and was always eager to explore diverse subjects. After completing her high school education, Vasana pursued a degree in Computer Science at a renowned university, affiliated to University College Dublin, Ireland where she honed her technical skills and developed a passion for technology-driven solutions.

During her college years, Vasana had the opportunity to support and lecture for their batch colleagues in various subjects. This experience opened her eyes to the world of entrepreneurship and ignited a desire to create something of her own. Armed with determination and a vision to bridge the gap between academics and everyday life, she began brainstorming ideas for her first venture.

In 2017, during her third year at the university, Vasana co-founded her first company, "Assignment Spot" The startup focused on providing student-friendly academic writing solutions for undergraduates, which was a relatively untapped market at the time. Despite facing numerous challenges, including internal constraints and fierce competition, Vasana's unwavering resolve and her team's hard work gradually led Assignment Spot to establish a solid reputation in the industry.

With the success of her initial venture, Vasana's appetite for academics only grew. Over the next few years, she spearheaded various projects that expanded the company's offerings to encompass academic writing solutions and services, developing software/mobile/desktop/web based applications, corporate projects handling, and digital marketing solutions. Her ability to anticipate industry trends and adapt quickly to changing technologies propelled Assignment Spot to new heights, attracting significant investments and global expansions.

Even with her growing business responsibilities, Vasana remained committed to giving back to society. She initiated several charity programs, supporting local undergraduates and small-scale businesses that promoted academic writing and empowerment. She helped jobless undergraduates to become freelances in this industry by creating job opportunities in the same industry and supporting them by enrolling into same organization as a financial support to them. Vasana firmly believed that education and access to entrepreneurship were vital pillars for building a better future.

Sharing the Happiness on the recognition

I would be very glad to share my happiness of being recognized to the title of “Women Icon powered by Times Women”. Throughout my journey, I had many obstacles and challenges to pass over and achieve these moments to cherish. Receiving an award is more than just a mere accolade; it signifies that others have recognized the value of your contributions. It boosts self-confidence and serves as a reminder that your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Such recognition can be a driving force, inspiring me to strive for even greater achievements in the future.

However, it is essential to remember that awards are not the sole measure of success or worth. While they are an incredible honor, they should not be the primary motivation for our actions. Instead, they should serve as affirmations of the hard work we put into our passions and endeavors.

On this special moment, I would like to remain humble and gracious when receiving this award. Gratitude towards mentors, my dedicated team members, colleagues, friends, and family is essential, as they play a significant role in shaping my path.
