Overview

Umah Jeralene Louis Adaikalasamy, age 57 (1966) was born and raised in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Her father, Louis Adaikalasamy worked in Pos Malaysia and her mother Lina Annie was a housewife.  She has 2 siblings Dr. Jeffery Louis and Jason Louis. After her mother passed away, she got married at the age of 22 years and moved to Melaka in 1988. However, she never stopped dreaming about pursuing further education. She was supported by her husband Mr.Sandrasegar Vellasamy. They have 2 daughters, Shalini and Dr Ravinniya, Son-in-law Kelvin Shaman, and 4 grandchildren (Ray, Ryan Rishon, and Rhinnia).

She experienced great challenges and obstacles while achieving her goals without ignoring her responsibility towards her family as well as establishing her carrier. She went through multiple stages of growth which brought her success from being a Personal Assistant to currently being a Head of Department. Her journey indeed wasn’t a bed of roses. However, she used each opportunity given to her as her stepping stone to further success. She still perused her further education and obtained a Master’s Degree in Executive Masters in Management in 2014.

However, in March 2018 she had a devastating injury involving her knee which required her to endure a surgical intervention called, “Total Knee Replacement”. The tragic situation broke her down completely as she struggled with severe pain toward recovery.  She was taken by surprise, as her previous workplace wasn’t reassuring. She not only struggled with her physical recovery but along with the uncertainty of her carrier. Nevertheless, she was perseverant and persistent to recover and ensured that she was able to be back on her feet within 6 months.

In September 2018, she was offered to be the Senior Manager of Sri Pengkalan Binaan Sdn Bhd. The encouragement and trust the company had in her gave her the motivation and determination to accomplish her mission. She managed multilevel projects which brought tremendous success to her and the company. She handles projects from various states of Kedah, Penang, Perak, Banting, Melaka, and Johor (North to South Malaysia). While she was striving for excellence, she had to endure her second total knee replacement on the other limb. This time around, her company supported her through the journey of recovery and encouraged her.

The company did not look at her as a burden as she kept the momentum of her duties and proved her hard-working attitude never dropped even with the pain she was undergoing.  She rose above and transformed her pain into an inner strength. While the country was hit by the Covid -19 pandemic, she had a moment of self-discovery and indulged in a healthy lifestyle and prioritising mental health. She continued with her dedication to her job and she also started to work on health awareness and self-care she was invited to a pageant that was a turning point to develop herself and work on her balanced lifestyle.

She had a breaking point in July 2022 when she was invited to participate in a pageant, and she swept the title of “Mrs. India Malaysia Classic Queen 2022”. After winning she was invited by Mrs. India Malaysia 2021 to join in modelling “AIRRU Magazine” which was launched in July 2023 with a grand success.

She is one woman who continues to learn and grow positively. Her life motto is “Age is just a Number”, “Stay Positive” & “Believe in yourself”.

Her current ambition is to establish a Women’s Organisation to assist women to find their purpose in life and to have a mindset of a winner. She wishes to inspire women out there to have an endless vision.
