Sakunthala Jayakanth Has Won Women Outstanding Cake Designer Award

This is Sakunthala Jayakanth from Sri Lanka. I’m a cake artist, Professional sugar flower artist, Professional Baker and Pastry Chef. I have an experience of 5 years in this field.  I have being awarded International and Sri Lankan recognizes certificates.  

I entered which field to prove that even housewives as me can earn money at home with a small business because as you know that Sri Lanka is facing the economic crisis right now therefore the daily to basic needs are affected for many people in Sri Lanka therefore most of the people had can move to other countries started immigrating to work, they requested me to teach the basic lesson of baking cake and decorating to work as a baker as part time.

As we know that other countries can a high employment for cake baking and decorating.  Then I wanted to make out where anyone can learn cake baking & decorating and so many on.

I started an academy called CAKE BEE. In this academy I students learn many skills and cultivate themselves .In Cake Bee Academy students are taught how to bake cake & decorate, Bakery, sugar flowers and modern wedding structures.  As many of them don’t know what’s sugar flower is, tell me explain sugar flowers mean edible flowers which looks natural are made to decorate cake. I have got students who learnt from me work in abroad as pastry chef. Cake Bee Academy provides Sri Lankan recognizes certificates.

I’m very glad to receive the Outstanding Cake designer award by women icon. I feel proud & wonderful to receive this award.  Woman icon is doing a wonderful job with motivates many women’s to come out of the home and be independent. I’m honored to be part of women icons. I hope more talents are recognized in future.  

Definitely I thank my parents for supporting me still now, without them I want be at this position right now. I’m happy that I faced past heartbreaking situations which mould be hard to achieve something.  Last but not the least I would like to end this by saying a quote “Don’t judge a women on her knees: You never know how tall she is when she stands”
