Professional Bio of Dr. Rasimah Jar

I am Dr. Rasimah Jar, a passionate published author, Relationship Success Coach, and Marriage Educator dedicated to transforming lives through the power of understanding and nurturing relationships. Conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy in Therapy & Trainer Education, a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Economics, I bring over 30 years of diverse experience in psychology, relationship coaching, therapy, counseling, and family life education.

Throughout my 34-year career, I have focused on individual and couple therapy, child development, parenting, and marriage counseling and coaching, which have equipped me with the skills to address a wide array of human interactions. Since stepping into the role of a Relationship Success Coach in 2006, I have become a sought-after trainer for numerous governmental and non-governmental agencies, especially within the Malay/Muslim community in Singapore. I prefer to be called Coach Rasimah, as it reflects my commitment to fostering a supportive coaching and therapy environment.

I have spent the last three decades developing and delivering practical programs and content tailored to the unique needs of my clients. My mission has always been to empower individuals and families through seminars, talks, workshops, and training sessions.  I have conducted these for business owners, professionals, various social service organizations, engaged and married couples, children, youths, parents, families, and educators since 1990. I have been privileged to connect with thousands of individuals, professionals, and families in Singapore and internationally including countries like Spain, France, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. It is a true honour to have made positive differences in their lives.

My expertise and specialization have led me to be an established, well-liked speaker and trainer, where I have shared my insights on relationship dynamics and personal development to thousands of people out there. I have also had the opportunity to lend my expertise to Singapore Mediacorp’s radio and TV channels since 2007, serving as a guest speaker, content consultant, and resource person for various shows. Recently, I was thrilled to see my flagship consulting firm, PROWISE Consultancy, awarded the prestigious status of a Singapore 500 SME Company for the Year 2023, a testament to our commitment to excellence in training and consultancy.

Beyond my professional endeavours, I am a devoted wife and mother of four children. I have been blessed to share 27 wonderful years with my husband. Despite the demands of entrepreneurship and family life, I firmly believe in giving back to the community. I actively support various international and local non-profit organizations in their missions to create a better world for future generations. Additionally, I enjoy participating in various podcasts as an invited speaker, where I discuss relationship issues and life challenges that resonate with many.

Personally, I would like to be remembered as one who is deep into help, generosity, and kindness to all human beings without being colour-, language-, or religion-specific. This is non-negotiable with me. In a world already ruled by divisive differences, I firmly believe in our common humanity. We are all the same. We are all in the same world, taking care of the same earth, our mother earth.  This conviction is at the very heart of my life and interaction with others.

My hope is to be seen not for external names but immortally for the essence of who I really am. I always advise others to look beyond skin colour, social status, culture, and other things. When we see a person, see them as they really are.  Do not judge them by where they come from or what they have. We are all human beings, deserving of respect and kindness.

Long after I am gone one day, I wish to be known as a woman who stood up for unity, kindness, and understanding through hatred in all of its forms. That would rather make the world better for me: seeing one’s own complete humanity in others, not through segments of division but through the eyes of empathy and acceptance.

Still, my heart beats for the world beyond what I aspire to make known: to remain a source of major inspiration to others. This will provide me with the life where I continue to serve others as a source of motivation for the people surrounding my life.  I will keep inspiring people as long as I can and as long as it is in me, I want to keep making a difference. That, I believe, is the real reason, not for my fulfilment alone, but actually starting a chain reaction of kindness and giving that will outlive me.  For me, a life lived for others is a life that never truly ends, for its impact echoes through eternity.

What excites me in my professional and personal life is the thought of those young people I have mentored taking up the torch and continuing my work of inspiring others. And I am so glad that some individuals I have mentored over the years have gone on to do great community work and inspire others to live a more positive and fulfilling life.

This very thought fills me with the hope that my influence on others would start a chain reaction of kindness and support in the world. I see it as a reminder to me that the work I do, whether big or small, has the potential to spark change and create lasting impact.

For me, the future is a legacy building and enabling other people to effect change. I hope to do this through a continuous cycle of influence, growth, and in return to leave my mark on the world, ensuring that kindness, generosity, and selflessness will always endure.

I am very honoured to be the recipient of “Women Icon” this year and winning the title of ‘Distinguished Woman Achiever Award’ from Women Icon powered by the World Women Council and Times Women. I dedicate this prestigious award to my husband, my mother and my children who have been my relentless supporters and motivators to me throughout my career.  I believe this award and recognition of my decades of helping profession will further propel me to do more great work in touching and helping the lives of others.

As I continue to grow both personally and professionally, I remain committed to helping individuals and families navigate their unique journeys, fostering healthier relationships, and creating a lasting impact in the communities I serve. Together, we can work towards a brighter future for all.
