Thilini Dharmathilaka is a passionate social worker, educator, and innovator whose dedication to community empowerment and resilience has transformed countless lives. As a UN Volunteer Country Team member for Disaster Management, she actively contributes to disaster preparedness and recovery efforts. Holding a Master of Science in Disaster Risk Reduction and Development from Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.

She has been recognized among Sri Lanka’s top 10 outstanding women, receiving the prestigious Liyawaruna Award from ITN Sri Lanka 2021 and securing first place in the Western Province category at the Vanithabhimana Awards, organized by the National Development Bank (NDB) and Sirasa TV 2021. With over 20 years of experience, she has worked extensively as a leadership trainer, facilitator, and motivational speaker, collaborating with corporations, educational institutions, NGOs, and youth organizations.

As the founder of the Foundation of Kind Hearts – Hearts and Hands of Humanity, she leads youth-driven initiatives focusing on education, sustainability, and social upliftment. The Foundation empowers marginalized communities through skill development, scholarships, and book donation drives while advocating for environmental conservation through tree-planting projects, waste management programs, and sustainability awareness campaigns in Sri Lanka.

Foundation of Kind Hearts registered under the Certificate of Registration of Voluntary Social Services/ Non- Government Organization under Voluntary Social Services Organizations (Registration & Supervision) Act, No.31 of 1980 as amended by Act, No. 8 of 1998. Our organization has done many projects across Sri Lanka, especially in rural areas.

 our dedicated team is always ready to give a helping hand to needy people. The Foundation of Kind Hearts catalyst for change that understands that meaningful impact requires collaboration beyond borders. Her involvement in diplomatic relations has strengthened international ties, allowing her to expand the reach of her humanitarian efforts and advocate for social causes on a global scale.

Vision: The Foundation of Kind Hearts strives towards the realization of a society in which justice, equality, and human rights are respected and people lead a peaceful life in spite of various differences.

Mission: Foundation of Kind Hearts voices the grievances of all human being irrespective of caste, religion , ethnicity and nationality and create opportunities for the development of affected and underprivileged people.

 One of its most notable efforts includes building homes for those in need, such as providing a secure residence for an elderly couple in Anuradhapura and currently constructing a sustainable home in Gampola. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she and her team worked tirelessly to provide clean drinking water and essential aid to disaster-stricken families. Beyond social work, Thilini is a visionary innovator, having developed a vibration-free stretcher for kidney patients to enhance comfort during transport and an advanced wheelchair for differently-abled individuals to promote autonomy and mobility.

Her curiosity about ancient scientific discoveries drives her to explore historical manuscripts, archaeological sites, and lost knowledge, uncovering the ways early civilizations understood natural phenomena.

With a keen interest in bridging diplomacy and humanitarian work, she leverages international collaborations to expand her reach and advocate for global social justice. Through her relentless commitment to positive change, Thilini and the Foundation of Kind Hearts continue to inspire and uplift, proving that even in adversity, compassion and unity can build a brighter future for all.
