Kanthi Basnayake has bagged Authentic Leader Award

Decisive and dedicated with decades of experience in management and administration, Kanthi Basnayake is a Trainer, Management Consultant, Educator, Motivational speaker and presently she is the Director of the Asia Pacific Management Institute-(APMI), with a passion is to remain as a customer-focused and results-oriented soft skills training provider. 

Asia Pacific Management Institute was established in 2014 and continues to work towards  developing skills , capacities and competencies of  youth, professionals in public and [private sector organizations and students in tertiary  education institutes.-Universities  through Education programs, Training  and Coaching sessions . With a versatile resource panel , most of these programs are affiliated to international training institutes such  as Teams work Pvt ltd in Malaysia ,civil service training institute in Maldives. 

Since the inception ,The APMI has conducted many public and customized training and capacity building programs to enhance the performance of the target group. Kanthi has worked with a number of students and trainers, over 3000 over her entire career. Many have turned out to be Directors - Mr Hashindra Silva, vice President of Indra traders, Professors – Prof: Nalin Abeysekara of the Open University of Sri Lanka and Civil Service administrators – Mrs Manel Kularatne -General Manger -Coconut Development Authority. 

Moreover, as the current Chairperson of International Association of Coaching-IAC, Sri Lanka chapter, she is determined to introduce transformational Coaching and Mentoring strategies to improve performance of Employees in public and private sectors, guide educators and teachers for the betterment of students welfare in the country.

She also works as an executive and business Coach while holding the Certified Professional Coach- CPC certificate form the Federation University in Australia and one of the pioneers to practice as a Certified Coach in Sri Lanka since 2018. More recently, Kanthi has been providing free coaching sessions to balance physical and mental wellness of the victims of Covid 19 pandemic. 

In terms of academics, she continues to lecture at  the department of Economics at the University of Colombo and many other public and private  sector training institutes, namely Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) and Miloda Academy of Financial Studies Sri Lanka in a visiting capacity. She has also used her expertise by serving in academic boards at the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and National Institute of Exporters (NOIE).

Kanthi was cited as Top Women Leaders in Sri Lanka by the World Human Resource Congress in 2018 for her contribution to the capacity development and training of human resources in Sri Lanka. In her free time, Kanthi Basnayake is a poet and an author, having written many poems, published and unpublished, and an author of two books; You and Your Success book 1 and 2. She has two daughters and two granddaughters.
