Overview
Dr. Sharmini Perera is currently the Head Faculty of Business Studies
and Lead, Office of Mentoring and Coaching at Sri Lanka Technological Campus
(SLTC). Sri Lanka Technological Campus is a subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom. It
is a university that is driven by the focus of producing the human capital
required for the future workforce with the most updated skills.
Hence, we highly promote a culture that strives for knowledge creation through applied research apart from knowledge dissemination. I am humbly honored to be performing two major roles namely as the Head Faculty of Business Studies and Lead, Office of Mentoring and Coaching at SLTC as it gives me the privilege to contribute with my over 20 years of my work experience from the corporate world, as an entrepreneur as well as now in the academia to the development of futuristic young minds.
She is also a corporate
trainer and a certified coach and a mentor by International Institute of
Coaching and Mentoring (IIC&M). She was the winner of the Outstanding Woman
Performer of the Year in 2021 by the Women Icon Awards and was honored by the
Woman Leaders Award by the World Women Leaders Congress in 2019 apart from many
other awards and recognitions she has received in her professional career.
She has over 18 years of work experience in the corporate sector. She
holds the position of the Director at Future Holdings International (Pvt)
Ltd and the Founder Director of Medical Tourism Lanka Pvt Ltd.
Previously she was employed at Dialog Telecom from 2000 to 2009 where she developed her career as divisional trainer and in Credit Management & Billing Operations. She holds a Ph.D in Management that specializes in tourism from Management and Science University (Malaysia) and a Master of Business Administration, International (Australia). She is a Member of The Golden Key International Honour Society and an Associate Member of Association of HR Professionals, Sri Lanka.
She is a faculty member and a research supervisor to the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration, Aquinas University College, Miloda Academy of Financial Studies, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM). Her competencies are in the fields of Human Resource Development, Marketing Management and Tourism and Hospitality Management.
