Dr. K.Shanthichitra is the Associate Professor and Head in English. With 18 years of teaching experience, she is a passionate teacher and researcher. She delves into the heart of literature and aspires to make its learning meaningful to enhance everyday living, to be and become the finer self and create a much better and beautiful ambience for the learners. She firmly believes in her ability to change the pattern of thinking in people and help in converting all as instruments to bring changes for a better world. This passion has now converted her from a teacher to a writer and recently into a film maker as well.  

Dr Shanthichitra was born in Chennai in 1978. Her childhood was that of travel and experiences. Her journey through India, which stretched across Nagaland to New Delhi, enriching her cultural and artistic roots has been the key factor of her creative impulse. Her teaching and Research and all her writings aim at making that difference. She has Three Novels and 12 short stories to her credit and more that 50 Research Articles published in National, International, Refereed Journals and UGC approved journals and Scopus indexed Journals. She is invited all over the world as a resource person for her research topics and discussions have paved the way for some of the most unique areas to research upon. Her novels The Fractals, Lonely Marriages and Intimate Strangers were well received for the lucid and gripping narration through the panoramas of culture and life. Her themes always strive to stir and disturb the tranquillity and tedium of life. The Fractals is an understanding of the psychology of a molester and a molestation victim and this novel of hers received a special award by Lucknow Sahithya Mandili in 2016. For her novel Intimate Strangers, India Prime Author Award 2021 organised by Foxclues bestowed the recognition of top 100 novels. 

As a person she writes, reads, teaches, paints, creates and spreads sunshine. She loves colours, words, silence and through stories believes can help the muffled voices of this society to gain back their entitled life.
