Sanjani Kumarihami has bagged Outstanding Women Achievement Award

Sanjani Kumarihami an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and a Certified HR Auditor in Sri Lanka. She is a Graduate in Human Resource Management from the University of Kelaniya – Sri Lanka in 2006 and she studied for her Master’s in Business Studies at University Colombo in 2010. She was a member of Toastmasters International. 

She has a proven track record of over a decade in Human Resource Management, Talent Acquisition & Development, Change Management, Coaching and Mentoring and Employee Engagement initiations in various industries including Apparel, ICT, Travel, Trailer Manufacturing, infrastructure development, Entertainment & Media. She has been recognized as one of the Best Women Leaders in Sri Lanka by World HRD Congress in the year 2018 and one of the Most Influential Global HR Leaders 2018. 

Her passion is to lead and support teams toward success and make their dreams a reality. She has remarkably contributed and given leadership for the companies for which she has been working for several remarkable achievements in the field of Human Resource Management as well as in core business. She is a visionary leader in the field of Human Resource Management and influences to improve the landscape of the local Human Resources practices. Her dedication towards any of the assignments is noticeable and her strong decision-making skills, organizing skills and public relations skills have been appraised by employers. 

She has empowered hundreds of women and youth by career guidance to make their lives a success. She has assisted many women and youth to strengthen their confidence in their personal life and career life.  She has fulfilled social responsibility by assisting those who need care and attention with the support of social service centers and donors over the past decade.

She was born in 1980 in Kandy- Sri Lanka and grew up in a rural background. Her humble childhood and family background have laid the foundation of helping others. She studied at Welimada National School and was a bright student who won the hearts of all the teachers in school. She was selected to the University and is always thankful for the free education offered by the Government of Sri Lanka. As a young undergraduate, she had taken certain efforts in improving the language literacy of the children in the rural areas. Life in the village was a great challenge to her but the strength she gained from her alma mater has challenged the challenges. 

Currently, she holds the position of the Head of Human Resources Management in MG Consultants (Pvt) Ltd: the most reputed Engineering Consultancy Company in Sri Lanka that provides engineering consultancy for infrastructure development projects in the country. She is responsible for the entire Human Resource Management function of the company being a strategic business partner to the company. 

It is a great honor to her to be recognized with the Outstanding Women Achievement Award by the Women Icon powered by the Times Women. Also, another remarkable milestone achievement in her career life, and this recognition will be the one of most precious ornaments that she could wear throughout her career journey and in the professional activities related to empowering and guiding future leadership. 

Her future ambition with this achievement is to continue the professional practice as well as the social activities of empowering youth and women to influence society positively.
