Mya Thandar Oo @Maya (Chief Sales Officer
Myjobs.com.mm) We all can make a difference. Although a little step of
kindness cannot change the entire world, it can yet change a world of at least
one person. Therefore, we shall not stop making little kind steps towards each
other, regardless of the circumstances. Make the decision to extend
kindness. Warm someone's heart today, now. Pass it along and never
underestimate the power of life's universal values.
My name Ms. Mya Thandar Oo is a passionate traveler and
lover of people. I graduated with a Master of Law (LL.B, LL.M) 2006 in
East of Yangon University, Myanmar. I was one of the alumni of Draper
University (Silicon Valley) 2020 and PEACE- Myanmar Center in Yangon from 2015
to 2019.
I am a freelance trainer, motivational speaker,
corporate advisor and diversity advocate. I conducted the sales ethics
training, personal branding and leadership skill, and gender-based violence
training coordinated with the other community-based organizations in
Myanmar. I was on a mission to help organizations, leaders and individuals
to “Break the Bias' ' and reconsider the potential of themselves and their
teams, outside of the societal expectations which might be holding them back.
As an expert in gender equality and empowerment, leadership development, and
unlocking the potential of people. I have an inquisitive and innovative
mind for education, with a strong business acumen, international outlook and
unfailing energy and commitment for accounting.
I have developed and instigated a number of different
innovative tertiary educational programs. I am working to promote diverse women
and gender women Leadership roles such as women’s rights, Human rights and
gender rights, civic & political engagement. What makes me qualified to do
this is my experience with the Islamic community and diverse communities of how
to build leadership and peace building. This is important to Burma because
minority groups including the Rohingya ethnic group have to have rights to
participate in transition to democracy and Human Rights for Justice. Recently, I was awarded a Myanmar Women Leadership 2021 (CMO
Asia). I have been shortlisted for Women Icon Power by the Women Council
affiliated with Times Women Award 2022. I have been Mentor for the 2022
mentorship program for Deep Global Shapers Yangon (GSY).
This International Women’s Day, I was exploring how we, as
women, have the power to support other women to rise up, not just in our local
communities and networks but right across the world. With a specific focus on
the economic empowerment of women, supporting women to become economically
independent is one of the most effective pathways to lift entire communities
out of poverty. We’ll explore different ways that Myanmar women have made their
contribution to the world by backing women overseas to build their own micro
businesses so they can support their families and begin to break the cycle of
poverty in their villages.
Identifying the high level of stress and overwhelm
experienced personally and by working mothers, who wanted to find a way to make
a difference to their daily lives. She dedicated her career to helping
professional working mothers find more freedom and fulfillment through coaching
in wellbeing. By the mission to find answers to why the daily juggle for
balance between work and life is so elusive for women in high pressure
roles in leadership positions across a diverse range of industries.
